• Departure from Bilbao: 09:30 (Saturday morning) / Arrival to San Sebastián: 11:00 (Saturday morning)
• Departure from San Sebastián: 18:00 (Saturday afternoon) / Arrival to Bilbao: 19:30 (Saturday evening)

Day 1: Bilbao

With an eclectic mix of Gothic and modern architecture, Bilbao is the cultural center of Spain’s Basque Country. This is where we will spend our first day. After checking in to our hostel we’ll make our way to the city center for some free time to eat and explore. Afterwards, we’ll take our official walking tour of the city’s old, historic neighbourhoods as well as its new, more modern areas.

Important: Our free time in Bilbao is the perfect chance to visit the famous Guggenheim Museum. There are usually tickets available at the door of the museum, but if you prefer to book online you can contact us at [email protected] for more information on the best time slots to choose.

After an exciting first day, you’ll be free to enjoy the evening at your own pace.

Day 2: San Sebastián

The next day after our complimentary breakfast at our hostel, we will continue on to San Sebastián. Our official local guided tour will take us through its beautiful streets and all along its coastline to see everything from the Miramar Palace to the baroque church of Santa María. You will fall in love with the adorably cafés in the old quarter, the gothic-style architecture, the modernist seaside sculptures, the soft beaches along the Playa de la Concha and Michelin-Star pintxos!

After a fabulous day of exploration, we will drive back to Bilbao where everyone can enjoy another free, relaxed evening in País Vasco.

Day 3: Bilbao, “Dragonstone” & Madrid

Begin your Sunday with an optional morning excursion to the Islet of San Juan de Gatzelugatxe. The famous Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon filming location for Dragonstone. Spend the morning exploring the dramatic cliffs, ancient ruins and natural beauty of this incredibly unique location.

Important: Our Excursion to San Juan de Gatzelugatxe is optional. If you prefer to stay in Bilbao you will be free to spend the morning as you choose. This would be another great time to visit the Guggenheim Museum in case you were not able to on Friday.

After returning from the excursion, enjoy some free time for lunch in Bilbao, where you can eat some pintxos one more time. Once refreshed, we’ll start our journey back to Madrid.

In Bilbao we will be staying at an hostel. Room assignments will be determined based on the information that you provide us when signing up. We’ll be staying in rooms that accommodate between 4 to 12 people.

Group Name

When signing up for this trip you will see the option to indicate a “group name”. This is where you can inform of about who you would like to share a room with. We will always do our best to keep your group together.

If you have purchased a ticket without indicating a group name, we will assume that you are ok with being placed in a room with someone you may not know. If this is not the case, please reach out to us at [email protected] to inform us about your roommate request.

Citylife offers a basic travel insurance package with every trip that can be purchased as an add-on to your ticket. The insurance is provided by Innovac in partnership with Europassistance and will cover basic medical emergencies for the duration of the trip.

Do you Need to Take the Insurance?

It is not mandatory to take this specific insurance that we offer, but please keep in mind that it is your responsibility to make sure that you are travelling with proper coverage. If you decide not to take the insurance, we will consider that you are covered by another policy.
