Overview

Discover the splendor of Spanish history, architecture, and natural beauty as you escape the bustle of Madrid for a day. Our curated day trip to El Escorial & Segovia offers an unforgettable experience, immersing you in the grandeur of royal castles, the solemnity of an historic monastery, and the enchanting ambiance of two ancient cities.

El Escorial is famed for its breathtaking monastery which houses many of the Spanish royal family, as well as one of the most beautiful secret libraries in Europe. Segovia is home to a Roman aqueduct, which gave the city its status as a UNESCO World Heritage site. Known as one of the best-preserved monuments on the Iberian Peninsula, the aqueduct towers at 28,5 meters tall. Additionally, the gorgeous Alcázar of Segovia is rumored to be Walt Disney’s inspiration for the Cinderella castle!

You can either book now at the bottom of this page or in our office on Calle Gran Vía 33, 8D. If you have any questions please get in touch with us at [email protected].

Please be advised that in accordance with our terms and conditions the City Card membership cannot be used to obtain discounts for anyone but the card holder.

Where exactly do we meet? +

We meet at Paseo de Moret 2 (Metro: Moncloa) at 08:45. We meet on the street outside, not inside the bus station. The exact spot will be confirmed by your trip coordinator before the event. The bus departs at 09:00 sharp so please don’t be late!

Is the El Escorial monastery visit included? +

The monastery gardens are free to enter and included in your visit. Entrance to the monastery building itself is not included but very affordable, with a reduced price for students. You can pre-book your ticket here.

How much free time do we have in Segovia? +

You will have approximately 5 hours in Segovia to explore at your own pace. That’s plenty of time to see the main sights, grab a proper lunch and still find a quiet corner of the old town to wander around.

What should I eat in Segovia? +

Segovia is famous for its cochinillo asado, a slow-roasted suckling pig that is one of the most celebrated dishes in Spain. There are several excellent restaurants around the main square that serve it. Budget around 20-25€ for a full sit-down lunch.

Is this a good trip for first-time visitors to Spain? +

Is lunch included? +

No, lunch is not included. You will have free time in Segovia to eat at any of the restaurants and tapas bars in the historic centre.

I have more questions, who do I contact? +
