If you love reading and shopping for books, you might have a hard time right now since all bookstores are closed and deliveries are limited. But donā€™t worry bookworms! There are several ways you can still get your books. Check out these awesome websites and apps that allow you to download books. The best news is that they’re easy to navigate and free. Libraries and Stores

New York Public Library

If you are in possession of a library card, thereā€™s some good news for you: thereā€™s a selection of more than 30,000 e-books that you can borrow from the NYPL. The free app that goes with the library is called SimplyE (iOS & Android) and allows you to read the books directly on your phone. Note that at the moment, no more than 3 books can be borrowed due to high demand. If you want to go exploring a bit, the library also contains more than 800,000 photographs, historic prints, manuscripts, maps, and much more for you to discover!

Open Library

In the Open Library, not only can you look for millions of e-books of all genres, but you can also contribute to books by editing or adding information about authors, content, etc. Any book you are looking for you can find by easily entering the title, author, and subject. The choice is large, as several libraries make their content available on this platform, including the Library of Congress, the California State Library, and the Boston Public Library. So there is definitely something in it for you!

Google eBookstore

The greatest classics, top bestsellers, your favorite books–find it all in the free section of the Google eBookstore. Besides the possibility to download books to your device in different formats, you can read through other usersā€™ reviews and ratings and leave your own.

Bookburn

Audible

This widely popular app is for the ones who like listening better than reading. As for Audible, it works on the same principle as Amazon Kindle since the two of them are both offered from Amazon and thereby connected. Another option is to make use of the 30 day free trial.

Aldiko
