Madrid is a melting pot of different cuisines, its abundance of great Asian food places adding to this considerably. Whatever you’re in the mood for, be it sushi, noodles, dim sum, rice, rolls or pho, Madrid has plenty to satisfy your Eastern food cravings. There are so many good restaurants offering take away, as well as eating in, it is just a matter of deciding what you really want!  So, here is a guide to eating Asian in Madrid.

Yatai Market

A great place to start would be in the buzzing Yatai Market. Yatai (which means street food stall) is an amazing Asian street-food market with various vendors all under one roof! Located very centrally in Tirso de Molina, this trendy, neon-lit market provides the perfect spot to enjoy an authentic taste of Asia. You have the choice of ten different street stalls selling ramen, pad thai, dimsum, sushi, Vietnamese rolls, poke bowls and much more! This is definitely worth a visit, as it has all the fragrant tastes you could wish for!

Sushi

YokaLoka

Located in Mercado San Antón Martín this little gem serves incredible sushi. You can order to take away but there is also space in the market to sit and enjoy your sushi made there and then. A little pricier than sushi chains but the quality and friendly staff makes it worth every euro!

SushiWakka Express

This little sushi spot is just off Gran Vía and has lots of set menus to go. This is a good place if you want a sushi fix but not be too much out of pocket. They have a few restaurants around the city, so they’re easy to come across.  A helpful hint: on Wednesdays they have a special deal where sushi sets are only 1€!

Vietnamese

Viet Nam Restaurant

This little restaurant has an authentic Vietnamese menu with delicious food prepared by Vietnamese chefs. The service is friendly and the pho and noodles are well worth a trip to the lovely Barrio de las Letras.

Chinese

In terms of Chinese cuisine there is not a Chinatown as such, like in NYC and London but the bario Usera is known as a the Chinese community in Madrid. There you will find an abundance of Chinese restaurants and supermarkets and it is here that Chinese New Year is also celebrated with a parade!

Zhou Yulong

This Chinese restaurant is a serious hidden gem as it is underground! The restaurant is in a carpark located under Plaza de España. Here you will find authentic Chinese dishes, as well as the classic staples of rice, ribs and dumplings! Go through the pedestrian entrance and have a unique dining experience.

Wok Express

This Chinese take-away has an excellent choice and very reasonable price. The noodles are really good and the serving is pretty big. A reliable spot to get some tasty Chinese food.
